Oba Adeyeye Ogunlesi, the Ooni of Ife has expressed concern over the current state of insecurity in the country and stated that the south-west region desires peace and not war.

The Ooni of Ife said this during his courtesy visit to President Buhari at the statehouse in Abuja on Thursday.

Representing other traditional rulers in the South-West Geo-political zone, he stressed that the reason behind this mishaps is the presence of strangers in the rural areas of the nation.

The Ooni said, “We are worried and prepared to work with the government as they called for a reinforcement of federal apparatus to defend themselves from people he describes as bad eggs who may not all necessarily be Fulanis.”
