Speaking during a mass meeting at Orile Iganmu in Lagos, Nigeria, convener of African Women in TIB (AWOTIB), Comrade Kofo Beckley who urged women to join in the fight against bad governance in Nigeria, called on residents to unite in resistance, as agitations in large numbers is quite capable of checking thugs and overzealous policemen who may try to disperse peaceful protesters forcefully.

Beckley emphasized the need for womenfolk to join the AAC party and her revolutionary movement of #TakeItBack at a time like this when Africa is experiencing xenophobic attacks and racism.

According to her, the TIB is poised to restore Nigeria as the giant of Africa to her place of pride. She further stated that it has become pertinent for African women to find radical ways to come together and build a society which can provide them financial independence while noting that women are drivers for sustainable development in any nation.
