Nigerian Lawmaker Appoints 36 Legislative Assistance

Victor Mela Danzaria, a member of the house of representatives representing Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency has appointed 36 legislative assistants.

He appointed one person as a senior special adviser, three were appointed as special assistants, nine as personal assistants I while the other 23 as personal assistants II.

In a statement made available by the lawmaker to newsmen in Gombe, he stated that the appointment of the legislative aides was to help them in providing food on their tables for their families.

According to him, the aides he appointed were those that rally round him and fought for his victory during the election campaign, adding that he carefully select them to ensure diverse people in the constituency were selected.

“It is unprecedented and record-breaking to give 36 people means of livelihood. I will pay 80 percent of them with my allowances, only a few of them will be paid by the National Assembly.”

“I tag the initiative as ‘I will not eat alone’ to allow people that work for my victory the chance to put food on their table,”.
