BREAKING: Odion Ighalo Retires From Super Eagles

The Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Odion Jude Ighalo has retired from the Super Eagles, Few hours after John Mikel Obi also announced his retirement.

The former Watford striker has the Super Eagles the only goal that gave them the third-place victory over Tunisia before he was replaced few seconds to the half time due to a hamstring injury he sustained.

He joined the Super Eagles and made his debut in 2015 under coach Daniel Amokachi, later played his first international competition at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

He was strongly criticized with diverse threats on his family following his glaring miss against Argentina during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia which could have given the Super a 2-1 win.

Though, the 30 years old forward came back strong to become the highest goal scorer for the 2019 AFCON tournament qualifiers, with seven goals to his credit.

He is also the current top scorer at the 2019 AFCON competition with five goals, but Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Algeria’s Adam Ounas are closest with the three goals.
